A certificate is useful only when it is tied to the exact model, gas type and installation method. For Solaronics equipment, first identify the product family, then attach the relevant CE document, technical instruction and drawing for execution.
What the documentation must prove
For industrial heating, a generic statement that the appliance meets European requirements is not enough. The designer, site supervisor and installer need a traceable package: model name, burner type, gas category, electrical connection, permitted mounting conditions and a document that can be filed in the building's technical record.
Solaronics documentation is split into practical groups. Files marked CF are certificates or declarations for a product family. Files marked NT are technical instructions for installation, commissioning and service. DWG files are drawings for project documentation. The split matters: a certificate does not replace commissioning instructions, and instructions do not replace proof of conformity.
| Equipment family | Typical documents | What to check in the project |
|---|---|---|
| SRII radiant plaque heaters | EN-CF08002A, EN-CF08003A, EN-CF08004A, NT08013F-GB |
number of plaques, nominal output, fuel, mounting height |
| SolarHP radiant tubes | CF15001A, CF15002A, NT15002G, NT15003C, NT15004E, NT15005F |
tube length, SolarHP or SolarHP-R version, flue route |
| RayLine / BRT systems | CF16003A, CF08010A |
burner type, modulation, network layout |
| ECO3 / MHX unit heaters | NT20005I, NT20006F, MH, MC, MV and MHX product sheets |
condensing version, condensate connection, flue outlet |
| Air curtains | CF09002C, MRA, MRX, SW, SE, SWR and SER documents |
doorway width, heating medium, recessed or surface-mounted version |
How to read file codes
The document code is not arbitrary. CF marks a certificate or declaration, NT marks a technical instruction, and the model name tells you which appliance the document covers. EN-CF08002A-FR_Certificat_CE_type_SR_4_plaquettes.pdf, for example, is a CE document for a four-plaque SR version. NT08013F-GB_Technical_instruction_SRII.pdf is the English SRII instruction.
At equipment handover, check three things. First, the code on the nameplate must match the document in the file. Second, the design gas must match the actual connection: G20, G25 or G31. Third, the installed configuration must match the drawing and instruction, especially the flue, clearance from combustible materials and suspension height.
The boundary between certificate and installation responsibility
The CE document confirms that the product is compliant within the described scope. It does not confirm that every individual installation has been executed correctly. That responsibility remains with the designer, gas installer and commissioning engineer. For gas-fired appliances, product conformity and site conformity must be kept separate.
The most common documentation error is mixing families. A certificate for an SRII radiant plaque heater does not cover a SolarHP radiant tube. The instruction for an MH ECO3 unit heater does not cover an MHX condensing version. If the building uses a combined system, the file must contain documents for each family separately.
What to attach to a quotation or project file
For a tender or execution file, prepare a short document list, not a full archive. This reduces the chance that the supervisor reads the wrong attachment. For each appliance, list the model, gas type, output, position in the building and certificate file name.
| Package | Contents | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Quotation package | model, output, short description, family certificate | prove that the proposed equipment is compliant |
| Design package | certificate, technical instruction, DWG drawing | integration into design or as-built documentation |
| Installer package | technical instruction, connection diagram, commissioning checklist | installation and first start |
| Service package | nameplate, serial number, instruction, commissioning record | later maintenance and spare parts ordering |
If the document for the exact configuration is not in the public archive, do not substitute a similar model. The correct path is to request the document by model and serial configuration.
